CLASSES
Wallace Furniture offers a range of courses in fine woodworking from our workshop in Northern NSW. Focusing on hand tools and traditional techniques, you’ll gain an in-depth knowledge of timber and tools. Progressing from basic skills learnt through set projects, you’ll move to more advanced techniques and gain freedom to explore your own designs and projects. All with the support of experienced and passionate instructors and access to a well equipped workshop with quality hand tools, machinery and workbenches.
Please sign up for our newsletter, as we are always developing new courses.
Short Courses
Our short courses are based around a series of set projects designed to ground you in the fundamentals of working with timber. These projects include a chopping board, a timber mallet, and a serving tray. Once the introductory classes have been completed, you can move onto small pieces of furniture such as a stool, coffee or side table.
Term Classes
Our term based classes run for 3 hours one evening a week over 9 weeks. This allows every student to learn at a measured pace, building on their skills week by week. The term classes follow the same set of projects offered in the short courses, but allows students to work at their own pace. It generally takes two terms to complete these projects. Once you have, you’re encouraged to return to begin making furniture and objects of your own design.
Private Classes
Our private classes are tailored to a specific skill or project you’d like to explore. These can be run as a regular weekly session, or a dedicated number of days. Private classes are charged at an hourly rate and we’ll endeavour to make an estimate of how long you will need to complete your project before we begin.
